Math
Topic 6: Use Operations with Whole Numbers to Solve Problems
This topic focuses on solving comparison problems as well as using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to solve multi-step problems. Your child will practice using the four operations to explore the relationship between separate values.
Science
Students investigate the role that animal senses, primarily vision, play in survival as they try to understand why there is a decline in the number of Tokay geckos living in one area of a rainforest in the Philippines.
Social Studies
Students will be learning about what makes a complex society. Students will research and study how the Native Americans interacted with the environment and developed unique cultures.
Reading
Module 5: In this module students will be focusing on the essential question, “How far can your talents take you?” Students will learn about artistic and creative people by studying the biography genre.
Writing
Module 5: Students will write an argument writing piece. They will write about an imaginary school trip to see an orchestra play.
