Art

All of the classes in the school (PreK through Grade 5) will begin to work on their artwork for the “Square 1 Art” fundraiser. This PTA fundraiser will help raise money for the school, while giving families the opportunity to have their children’s artwork printed on a variety of items, such as cups, bags, magnets, and necklaces. More information about this fundraiser will be shared soon. In the meantime, you can visit the Square 1 Art website at:  www.square1art.com

Drama/Theater

  • Kindergarten: In February, kindergarten students will continue to act out characters and events from familiar stories while practicing expressive movement, facial expressions, and feelings.

  • Grade 2: Second grade students will deepen their understanding of characters by showing how characters feel and change throughout a story. They will work together to plan and perform short scenes that demonstrate their ideas.
  • Grade 3: Third grade students will create short scenes with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Through discussion and performance, they will use voice and movement to tell a complete story.
  • Grade 4: Fourth grade students will build on their improv skills by creating short scenes with strong character choices. They will focus on collaboration, creativity, and responding to their scene partners.
  • Grade 5: Fifth grade students will create, revise, and perform original scenes. They will focus on clear storytelling, problem-solving, and reflecting on how their performance choices help communicate ideas to an audience.
