The 2025-2026 School Year
Monday, January 26, 2026 will be a remote learning day.
Letter to Families:
Due to extreme weather conditions, New York City Public School buildings will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026 and we will pivot to remote learning for all staff and students.
To ensure a smooth transition and a successful day of learning please see the information below.
Google Classroom: Please make sure your child has connected to his/her teacher’s google classroom.
Google Classroom is where teachers will post and share information including the schedule of the day, assignments, and live meeting links.
The day of learning will consist of a combination of live meetings with teachers (synchronous learning) and time for students to work independently on tasks and assignments (asynchronous learning).
If students have art, music, physical education, drama/theater, media, or computer science they will join the meeting link with that teacher at the time indicated on the schedule.
Students are expected to log into Google Classroom using their DOE username and password.
We advise all students to try logging in today to ensure they have access to Google Classroom and internet connectivity and make sure their device is fully charged. The public website “Free and Low-Cost Internet Options” also contains resources in cases where internet connectivity may not be accessible.
To support connectivity, we will have staggered start times for when students are expected to log on.
PreK- Kindergarten – 8:10 am
1st- 2nd grade- 8:25 am
3rd – 5th grade – 8:40 am
Live Sessions: Students learn best when they are present visually and audibly. Students are encouraged to have their cameras on during the live meetings with their teachers. It is also helpful if students participate in their live sessions in a quiet place at a table with limited surrounding activity so they can participate fully in the lessons and learning activities.
Attendance: Student attendance will be taken during the live google meets by the teacher.
The DOE’s definition of “Present” during remote learning includes: “Student is virtually present in a virtual learning environment for live (synchronous) instruction during the scheduled school day.”
Learning Environment:
During the live sessions we ask that families please do not interrupt the teacher by asking questions. If you have any questions for your child’s teacher, please send them an email and they will get back to you.
We also request that you please respect the privacy of the other students in the class.
Please do not take pictures or record the meetings.

- Tuesday, December 16, 2025: Twinkle Toes and Holiday Accessories: Wear your silliest socks and most festive hats, headbands, ties, jewelry, etc.
- Wednesday, December 17, 2025: Team Grinch or Team Cindy-Lou: Wear the Grinch’s favorite color GREEN or dress like a Who down in Who-ville!
- Thursday, December 18, 2025: Deck the Halls: Wear your favorite holiday sweater/shirt.
- Friday, December 19, 2025: Channel Your Flannel: Wear your snazziest flannel top or pj’s! (Who says you can’t have 2 pajama days!)

Respect for All Week
- Monday, February 10, 2025: “We All Belong!” Multicultural Food Festival Day! Dress in traditional clothing that celebrates your heritage. Students will learn about and experience foods from different cultures.
- Tuesday, February 11, 2025: “Peace, Love, and Respect!” Dress in your best TYE-DYE clothing. Activity: Take the “Kids Against Bullying Pledge”. Create a pledge together with students and have them sign showing their commitment to creating a bully-free environment.
- Wednesday, February 12, 2025: “A Dream is a Wish for Kindness” Dress as your favorite Disney or Storybook Character. Activity: Have students write one wish for how we can make the world full of kindness.
- Thursday, February 13, 2025: “Powered By Kindness!” Wear your favorite superhero shirt.
- Friday, February 14, 2025: “LOVE is LOVE” Celebrate spreading LOVE and ACCEPTANCE by wearing red, pink, or something with hearts.

Schedule Information
Our school day runs from 8:10 AM to 2:30 PM for students.
